Facebook Campaign: keepin’ it clean laguna
Challenge
Locals complain that visitors trash our beaches.
Strategy
Let residents know the City is on top of the issue. Our Facebook campaign wouldn’t change the behavior of litterbug tourists — but it would get the attention of the people concerned about the problem.
My Role
As the City’s Social Media Coordinator, I crafted short messages with a simple tone. I then identified beautiful images, created the template — got it all approved — and scheduled the posts.
Results: Complaints to the City’s Public Work Department decreased by more than 50% the summer we first launched this campaign, and compliments to the City increased.
